Oil of Oregano
 is a premium quality oregano extract derived from the fresh leaves of 
Origanum vulgare. 
Oregano is rich in naturally-occurring phytochemicals (antioxidants, tannins, volatile oils and phenolic compounds) that offer powerful antimicrobial and antifungal properties. 




The phenolic monoterpenes 
carvacrol
 and 
thymol
 (an isomer of carvacrol) are considered the primary biocidal compounds in oregano. Research suggests carvacrol exerts considerable effects on both the structural and functional properties of cytoplasmatic membrane, indicating specificity against biofilm-forming microorganisms, systemic and superficial fungal overgrowths such as 
Candida albicans
, and other pathogenic manifestations. Oil of Oregano may be taken alone or in combination with other products such as ParaBotanic Select.
